Remembering God's Awesome Acts (Second Review)

Publisher: Eagle's Wings Educational Materials
Author: Sue Mortimer

List Price: $35.00

Ages: 9-11 Years

Reviewed By: Anita Barth

When you read the teacher's manual's introduction, you get a glimpse of why we need to teach ?His-story?; it is what history is really all about. The Remembering God's Awesome Acts teacher's manual includes 32 pages of lesson assignments, the workbook answer key, and hieroglyphic flash cards to cut out. The student notebook is a combination of workbook pages (packed with information) and the finished, polished work of the student - a real treasure.

The value of unit studies is demonstrated in this curriculum. The topics studied include Bible, history, social studies, art, creative writing, speech, drama, geography, anthropology and linguistics, but not all in the same day. Each is applied as is appropriate to the topic of the day's particular lesson. The teacher's manual does, however, subtitle each assignment by topic so that you know at a glance which subject is emphasized.

Rote memorization is not the focus of this curriculum. The student will gain a clear understanding of where and how events and places in the Bible fit into what is known of secular history while building a foundation of discernment and logical thinking skills. While no grade level is given, this appears to be Jr. High level and above.

The teacher's manual and workbook are glossy print paperbacks and sell for $35.00.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
