Critical Conditioning is a unit study text for K-12th grade. Its focus is critical thinking skills, reading comprehension, propaganda techniques, literary elements and study skills. The "Comprehension Skills" are organized by topic with suggested grade levels listed for each skill.

This is not a typical unit study curriculum. The concepts are more like valuable teaching techniques to be mastered by the teacher. It reminds me of reading Proverbs; there is a lot of important information that must be applied as a lifestyle rather than systematically moving through the material. The basic premise is to engage the student in the process of thinking! Stout provides a myriad of application ideas ranging from reading a map to writing a resume.

Critical Conditioning is 90-page paperback with a colored glossy cover.
