Originally published in 1904, these books returned to print in 1989.

Famous Men of Greece begins sharing history as a Greek would have shared it - by telling the most important stories about the gods and goddesses, as well as the primary Greek myths. While some Christians may question the need to learn pagan mythology, it's this mythology that most clearly reveals the Greeks themselves - who they were, what they held dear, and how they saw the world. After laying this foundation, the book continues with entertaining and memorable accounts of many who left their mark on this country. Even if you were to read this book for its own merit, independent of the Greenleaf curriculum, you would walk away with a much greater understanding of what we in the modern world owe to this ancient civilization.

The same holds true for Famous Men of Rome. It tells the story, in one interesting book, of the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. Like Famous Men of Greece, it is written at a level fourth or fifth graders would enjoy reading to themselves. Even so, these collections of biographical sketches will interest high school students and adults as well.

Both contain around 30 biographies. They sell individually for $16.95.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
