The keys to the Greenleaf history curriculum are the Greenleaf guides. All of these guides lead you in a study of history set firmly in a Biblical context while providing necessary background information, vocabulary and discussion questions. There is a lesson for each chapter in the Famous Men books. These lessons are preceded by a brief geography study that the student will really get his hands into. (Young students will love making salt dough maps.)

The typical lesson includes new vocabulary words, learning about people and places, background information that will answer any questions you have about the text, superb discussion starters, and often suggestions for supplemental reading. Both books end with a chronological overview of the history covered.

The lessons are best done as a family, with the selections being read aloud and discussed. This enables you, the teacher, to guide the discussion along whichever routes you deem appropriate while taking advantage of the benefits of different individuals airing their thoughts on the same issues. This format lends itself especially well to teaching groups or a group of siblings who are otherwise working at different grade levels. The youngest ones might enjoy listening to read-alouds and coloring in appropriate books while older students delve more deeply into the current era through research and reports or other presentations of what they've learned.

These guides each sell for $8.95 and they are only the beginning of what Greenleaf has to offer.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
