Jesus-The Promised One: A Christmas Devotional

Printer Friendly Version

Publisher: Christian Perspective
Author: Katherine Loop

List Price: Complete Kit: $13.99

Ages: All Ages

Reviewed By: Tammy Cardwell

Here is a Christmas Devotional kit worth using!

The kit contains the small, paperback book Jesus-The Promised One. At 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" and 52 pages, it is just the right size for convenient daily devotions in the 24 days before Christmas. You will also find child-friendly extras in the kit: a 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", cardstock book with a decorated page for each day; stickers your child will use in this book (These are cut from sheets, so children may need help removing the backs); and a gold pen that will also be used by your child in the little book. The only extras you will probably want to have on hand are crayons or color pencils.

You begin each session by reading the day's devotion.

Then you Think About the point of the day's devotion.
i.e.: Think about how precious Jesus is. He is God's gift to us. He should be our most prized treasure.

Next, you Pray together.
i.e.: Lord, thank you that nothing is impossible for you. Thank you for sending Jesus. Amen.

Finally, your child decorates the day's page in their little book.

This is a devotional that I would actually recommend using at any time of the year; you would simply need to adjust the readings slightly to remove the Christmas references. It does an outstanding job of starting at the beginning and revealing many of the Old Testament's `types and shadows' that point to the Promised One of the New Testament. It then proceeds to share the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By the time Christmas Day dawns, you and your family will surely have hearts that are prepared to celebrate Him.

The kit comes with one child activity kit (cardstock book; stickers, separated by day/page; pen) and you may purchase extras as needed.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
