I have been wanting to add more Bible curriculum to our studies and was glad to find Fruit of the Spirit, put out by Teacher Created Resources. Fruit of the Spirit provides a lot of fun ideas that I put to use in our homeschool. These activities build character and instruct children in biblically sound principals based on Scripture.

There are bulletin board ideas for each fruit. This is good for use in a school setting, but can be difficult when you are homeschooling. I came up with a way to make a bulletin board without a bulletin board. I simply used their bulletin board ideas on poster board. My children really enjoyed our bulletin boards, one of which still hangs in our living room.

The Fruit of the Spirit includes Scripture from the New International Version of the Bible. I didn't find it difficult to substitute the version I prefer, the King James Version. My daughters were able to better understand what I read from the King James Version when I also read it in the New International Version. The back of the book contains an answer key to all the activities. This is nice, especially when there is a fill-in-the-blank activity and it doesn't follow our version of the Bible. However, not having the versions match up doesn't detract from the valuable lessons learned from the Fruit of the Spirit.

This was my first time using anything from Teacher Created Resources, and I am glad that I used it. Fruit of the Spirit is definitely worth the investments of time and money. My daughters enjoyed doing the activities and learning about more ways they can show the Holy Spirit working in their lives on a daily basis.

I am a homeschooling mom in our second year. I am eclectic in our approach and use what works for each child. My husband and I have been married 8 year and we have 3 blessings from the Lord.
