Exquisite!

History Through the Ages: Historical Timeline Figures is designed to work with Diana Waring's History Alive! program; those familiar with Diana Waring will have a good idea which people and events will be included in these timeline sets. This particular set, "Resurrection to Revolution", covers the years 1 A.D. - 1799 A.D. and coincides with Waring's Romans, Reformers and Revolutionaries. More packets will follow that cover "Creation to Christ (from the beginning to 0), "Napoleon to Present" (1800 to today) and "America's History" (exploration to present). The sets come in 9x12 zip-lock bags and are printed on sturdy cardstock. Each set includes a cut-apart timeline (each era is color-coded, this one being red), a reference page that lists all the figures and their dates and a sheet that suggests different ways to display your timeline.

And now the best part - the figures

If, like me, you love the engravings found in old books, you will thoroughly enjoy these figures. If you, like me, sometimes need reminders of what each person did, you will really enjoy these figures. Amy Pak has created a beautiful collection of timeline figures (generally around 2 1/2" x 4") highly reminiscent of old engravings, and gone a step further by supplementing each figure with a brief explanatory text. For instance-
"Francis Zavier; 1506-1552 A.D. Spanish Jesuit missionary. With Ignatius of Loyola, he founded the Jesuit order, establishing missionaries in Japan, Goa, Ceylon and India."
Twenty dollars may seem a bit steep for a set that only covers from the Resurrection to the Revolution, but the author/artist grants the teacher permission to reproduce the figures (250 images) for family and classroom use (up to 50 students) so both the parent of multiple children and the co-op teacher should find this a worthwhile investment.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
