Similar in concept to her book The Economical Guide to Self Publishing: How to Produce and Market Your Book on a Budget, self-published author Linda Foster Radke’s new book, Promote Like a Pro: Small Budget, Big Show provides even more ideas about publishing and the high-tech world.

The book begins where Self Publishing leaves off, adding a great deal of information on creating a web presence using technological approaches. Many contributors offer their expertise on topics that deal with publicity and marketing through print, broadcast, and internet media.

The book is written in two parts:

Part I: Promote Like a Pro
Part II: The Inside Scoop

The first part, written by Radke, includes more advice on publicity, including cost versus quality, dressing for success, finding an economical publicist, publicity tips, book signings, using the internet, and developing mailing lists.

The second part, mainly written by the contributing authors, includes four sections:

Publicity and Marketing
Print Media
Broadcast Media
The Internet

Publicity and Marketing covers such topics as how to publicize your book, planning a marketing strategy, snagging free publicity, building goodwill and raising awareness, future sales on the phone, and public speaking to create credibility, visibility and sales.

Print Media includes information on getting into newspapers, book reviews, and column ideas.

Broadcast Media covers information on how to get free publicity on television, opportunities, radio marketing, and radio talk shows.

The Internet covers topics on promoting and selling books on the internet and web promotion.

The book ends with a comprehensive Index for the reader who is looking for specific information about one topic.
