First, a Question from Your Reviews Editor

Why are you reviewing?

Motivation is everything.

Well, maybe it’s not everything, but it does have a lot to do with everything. Why we do a thing is what generally determines how we do a thing – and how well we do it.

For instance, I work with EHO because it is part of my calling, because God put me here and told me to serve. I work with EHO because I have a heart for homeschoolers and for meeting their needs. These being what motivate me, I strive to always give my best. Admittedly, my best is too often not all it should be. I’m working on that too, because my goal in all aspects of my life is to bring God glory, and less than my best does not meet this goal.

So why are you reviewing? Is it only to get the “free” products? Is it to bring yourself glory? If any of these is your primary motivator, I suggest you take time now to reconsider whether or not you truly wish to review for EHO. EHO is here to serve homeschoolers and to give honor and glory to God. If your goal is not the same, if you are not motivated by the call God has placed on your life to serve, reviewing for EHO will become WORK. If your motivation is not to bring God glory in all things, you will find it easy to procrastinate until you either lose product or end up dashing off hastily (and poorly) written reviews merely so you can say that you “got it done”.

If, on the other hand, your desire is to bring honor and glory to God in all you do, if you review for EHO because your heart is in serving homeschoolers in this area, reviewing will become a part of what you DO. You may still have to work at it, but it will be work you do happily and while putting forth your best efforts. You will be ever watchful for what you can do to improve your writing skills. You will make every effort to turn your reviews in on time and properly formatted. You will, bottom line, strive to honor God by doing your very best in the position He’s put you in.

So, if you will, take a few moments now to think about why you’ve chosen to review for EHO. Perhaps you’ll decide that you wanted to do this for the wrong reasons and would be better off not reviewing for EHO after all. That’s fine. Then again, you may realize that your motivations were wrong, but that they’ve just been realigned and you want to continue with a heart focused on God and service. That’s great. Finally, you may be more convinced than ever that you are doing exactly what God wants you to do. That’s fantastic.

Whatever your final decision, know that we support you in it 100%.We at EHA and EHO are here to serve as many homeschoolers as possible, to help them on their path, and that includes you.
