Curriculum Yellow Pages is a 72 page, 3-ring binder with listings for over 500 websites relating to education. This book was written by 4 authors who took hours to scour through countless websites. The websites they chose contain a combination of lesson plans, unit studies, printables, worksheets, free software and online games covering a wide variety of topics.

This book covers over 34 subjects. Some subject areas have a handful of websites while others offer several pages. In addition to the common subject areas (math, science, language, etc) there are some unusual subjects included, subjects such as Art History, Journalism, Celebrations, Native American Culture and Technology. The book can be used with all grade levels from Pre-K through high school.

Even though I understand that no book like this can provide websites for everything, I was still a bit disappointed that some more common, popular (with kids) subjects weren't included - topics such as health, Japan, dinosaurs or crafts. In addition, a suggestion I would make would be that the book contain a subject index at the back. For example, if I wanted a website for spelling, I would need to look through the 7 pages of websites in the section entitled "Language Art Skills, Grammar & Spelling" to find one I might enjoy and use. I would rather look in the index for ďspellingĒ and have the page numbers at my fingertips.

The other suggestion I would make for a possible revision would be that the websites within each section would be arranged in some order. Iím not sure what the authors were thinking when they listed the websites under each heading (maybe Iím missing something?), but they donít seem to be arranged in either alphabetical order or by age level. Having them arranged in some order could help the reader to either go back and find a website of interest or look up websites for a certain age range.

Curriculum Yellow Pages retails for $16 and Iím not sure a 3-ring binder and copied pages are worth that, but the content definitely is! One last suggestion might be if the authors gave the opportunity for the reader to purchase additional subjects and/or if updated versions were made available in the future.

Overall, I think this book is great! For those who donít have the time to explore endless websites looking for great ideas and resources, this is an excellent book. Itís also nice for families who donít use set curriculums and for those looking for supplementary material.
